Scrape and compare controversial reddit comments with Perl

I wrote a script today which sorts a subreddit’s posts by most upvotes (by week/month/year depending on results), fetches the each post’s comment page, and sorts the comments by most controversial.  Not sure where this script will go in the future, but it’s fun to compare different subreddits.  It’s also interesting to analyze why some comments were considered controversial.

content: I don’t like saying this but go for Obama, otherwise you’d be throwing your vote away. I say I hate saying it because in a 2-party system (face it, it’s true) it comes down to the lesser of 2 evils.I think the US would benefit more then anything from an emerging 3rd, 4rth and …. party to break this horrible history of standoffs.

I see no point in the Paralympics, while its a shame that they have injuries that prevent them from competing on an Olympic level, there are no examples of having a second rate competition in any other aspects of life. content: The Paralympics are way more impressive than the regular Olympics IMO, and I think a far better example of the best of the human spirit. It’s one thing for someone in peak physical condition run 100 m in less than 10 seconds, but to see someone with no legs do it is truly incredible.
